Rs
1.25 crores happens to be the amount the makers of Queen had to shell
out to use an Asha Bhosle song in their Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen.
Stills from Queen
Producers Viacom 18 and Phantom Films spent a huge chunk of money for the song Hungama Ho Gaya from the 1973 film Anhonee, which featured yesteryear bombshell Bindu. The producers thought that the song was very apt for their film and got Saregama to give them the license to use the track in Queen. Anhonee was directed by Ravi Tandon, Raveena Tandon’s father and she recollects that the film was a blockbuster at that time, with the music rendered by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Hungama Ho Gaya - Original Version - Bindu and Sanjeev Kumar - Anhonee [1973]
Interestingly, Queen will have Kangana break into an impromptu dance on hearing this track and the director, Vikas Bahl was happy that he got the hit number for his film.
