Mary Kom the most awaited film of Priyanka Chopra has hit the box office on September 5 and had grand opening collections of over Rs.8 crore. The film has been released in 1,800 screens across the country and it is a biopic of five time boxing champion Mary Kom, directed by Omung Kumar.

Mary Kom as so far collected Rs 31 crore in the first four days and crossed Rani Mukherji's 'Mardaani' four days release box office collections where the film has collected around Rs 22 crore.

Thought the reviews of the movie are considerable very less but the opening collections of the film are good and the same collections have been continued in the remaining 3 days.

Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas reacted to the reports about the exhibitors cheating the audiences said," We haven't done anything of this sort; in fact, the tax benefits have helped boost the film's collections in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Biopics of known sportspersons such as Milkha Singh and Mary Kom have an edge over other films, as the audience can connect with such films.
