Nandita says, Bollywood lacks in variation!
Nandita Das was found at the proceeding Cannes Film Festival wherein she
stressed on the fact that she had to put all her skills into action
collectively during the making 'Firaaq'.
While another prominent factor remains that it’s been five years and
she recently found a story for her next. On the contrary she emphasized
on the factor that it is indeed time taking element for an independent director compile it.
It
remains a noteworthy fact, that it's been Nandita’s second stint at
Cannes in addition to the reason that she is here to serve on the Short
Film Corner as well as Cine Foundation jury for which she expressed her feel of honour as she happens to love seeing shorts, the actor, director added.
The actor
has acted in many short films at the same time admires the format, and
regret bitterly they never find a mainstream platform. While Nandita
furthered saying that short films
have a different rhythm as well they stay with you, similar to the short
stories that one reads and that we need to maintain our focus on
thematic connectors to connect
short films together to find theatrical release. Nandita even added
that she is happy a film like 'Bombay Talkies' which have been made by
connecting together four shorts has been screened at Cannes.
The films
screened at Cannes are admired by Nandita due to the fact that she
finds a greater evidence to belief in the filmmakers. On the contrary,
In India, economics interferes with art too much, she mentioned rudely.
Nandita
was known to have pointed out that even countries like Romania, Turkey,
Iran where perhaps five films are made a year, have cinematic gems,
while in India, with even 1,000
films being made across regions, here are barely any as a prominent fact
that our films are not pushing the boundaries to an critical extent.
During the concluding phase,
she feels happy that there are a few young filmmakers trying to create a
new wave of Indian cinema yet variety is missing in Bollywood. Nandita stresses that this is why we have had no contribution to world cinema after Satyajit Ray.
The
true essence of cinematic excellence lies in it's actuality along with
mindset of the film-maker as how he wants to present it to the world,
enriched with utmost variety.
It's a great challenge to be accepted!
