Hollywood
might not be overt or proud about it but it definitely tries to make
the most of a name that was successful earlier milking it for profits
over and over. Sequels go on releasing for the movies. Is this an
indicator of decline in the originality of the movies? Maybe and maybe
not.
2013 could be the year of sequels with as many as 30 of them releasing over
the course of the year. Movies like A Good Day to Die Hard, Texas
Chainsaw 3D among others already released while garnering a lukewarm
response, there are several of them impending a release in the days to
come.
Movies
like Iron Man 3 Iron Man 3 (April 26), Star Trek: Into Darkness (May
17), Kick Ass-2, Fast & Furious Six (May 24), Hangover III (May 31),
Red 2, The Wolverine (July 26), 300: Rise Of An Empire (Aug 2), The
Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec
13) are the highly anticipated movies of the year.
Animation
sensation, Despicable Me 2 will also release this year. Popular flicks
like Paranormal Activity, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Anchorman: The
Legend Continues etc are all lining up to take a bite off the box
office.
Here is a
list of the other sequels releasing this year: Monsters University,
Thor: The Dark World, Riddick, Insidious Chapter 2, Cloudy 2: Revenge Of
The Leftovers (Dec 20), Scary Movie 5, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters
(Aug 16), The Last Excorcism II, The Smurfs 2 (Aug 2) and Grown Ups 2
(Aug 30).
The Star
sequel performer would be Bruce Willis who will lead four titles this
year in the sequel section. Apart from the A Good Day To Die Hard, and G
I Joe: Retaliation which have already been released, highly anticipated
movies like Red 2 and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will also feature
him.
